Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Forkhead O box (FOXO) are a family of transcription factors comprised of four members in mammals, FOXO1, FOXO3A, FOXO4 and FOXO6, and are involved in the transcriptional regulation of many genes related to cellular metabolism. FOXOs are negatively regulated by insulin and key regulators of hepatic gluconeogenic genes. FOXOs are also important in the field of cancer. They have been well-established as tumor suppressors, and there is some discussion on their potential role as pro-oncogenic proteins. FOXOs also have an impact on aging (and age-related diseases) and may affect longevity. FOXOs are also involved in regulating muscle mass.

This Special Issue aims to review the latest advances in research on the basic mechanisms by which FOXO proteins regulate cellular metabolism, and their relationship to physiologic or pathologic mechanisms, such as cancer development and its role in the mechanisms of drug resistance, as well as their potential as pharmacological targets for longevity. The research articles may include results from basic research, preclinical, or clinical trials. Reviews that highlight new findings in this field are also welcome.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted via our online editorial system at https://imr.propub.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to start your submission. Manuscripts can be submitted now or up until the deadline. All papers will go through peer-review process. Accepted papers will be published in the journal (as soon as accepted) and meanwhile listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, reviews as well as short communications are preferred. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office to announce on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts will be thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. Please visit the Instruction for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) in this open access journal is 2500 USD. Submitted manuscripts should be well formatted in good English.
