Eddie Yin Kwee Ng, PhD ()Assoc. Prof. Ng Yin Kwee joined IMR Press as Executive Editor in January 2022. He obtained a B.Eng (CL I) from Uni. of Newcastle upon Tyne; Ph.D at Cambridge Univ. with a Cambridge Commonwealth Scholarship; PG Diploma in Teaching Higher Edu., NIE-NTU.
He is elected as Academician for European Academy of Sciences (EUAS, Greece); Fellow of American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (FAIMBE, USA); Academician for European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA, EU); Life Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (FASME, USA); Fellow for the National Academy of Technology (FNAT, USA); Fellow of Institute of Engineering and Technology (FIET, United Kingdom); Fellow of International Engineering and Technology Institute (FIETI, Hong Kong), Fellow of Asia-Pacific Technological Sciences Academy (FAPTSA, Hong Kong); Distinguished Fellow for Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, (DFIDSAI, China), and Academician for Academy of Pedagogy and Learning (USA).
He co-edited 14 books in STEM areas. He is well-established in areas of research related to Biomedical engineering and Infrared physics & technology (with its application to clinical diagnosis of health abnormalities). The breadth of his activities includes AI in healthcare and infrared imaging. He is in the Stanford list of the World’s top 2% Scientists since 2019 (ranked 83 out of 64,425 as 0.001% in the field of Biomedical Engineering). He is also ranked # 6 (Worldwide) in Google Scholar under Biomedical, more than 18,700 (h-index: 71) with notable citations in BME-IRTP research.
He is the Investigator & Awardee (2021) of HealthTEC Seed Grant from Singapore Health Technologies Consortium (NUS) and Principal Investigator & Awardee (2021) of International Healthy Longevity Catalyst Global Innovator by U.S. National Academy of Medicine, J&J and NRF. He is also an academic advisor to an open fund young individual researcher grants to Singapore NMRC grant. Eddie received 2022 Alumni Highly Commended Award from the VC of Newcastle upon Tyne University, UK for his contributions to the society and achievements as academia.
Eddie was named the winner of the 2024 2nd IETI (International Engineering and Technology Institute) Ramesh Agarwal Lifetime Achievement Award in Science, Engineering or Technology. This award honors individuals with lifetime achievements in research, education, and service towards the advancement of any discipline of engineering and technology. Guo-wei Tu, MD, PhD ()Prof. Dr. Guo-Wei Tu served on the Editorial Board of Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine in 2022. He obtained his MD degree in Medicine from Fudan University, China. Currently, he holds the position of Professor in the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, China. In 2016, he was awarded the Chinese Young Investigator Award for research in critical care medicine. Dr. Tu was also awarded the titles of Excellent Academic Leader of Shanghai and Top Young Talent of Shanghai in 2020. He has published more than 70 articles in SCI-indexed journals and serves as a guest editor and editorial board member for many scientific journals, including BMC Medicine, Frontiers Cardiovascular Medicine, Cardiology Research and Practice et al.
Behrooz Astaneh, MD, BA (Hons), PhD ()Dr Behrooz Astaneh joined the IMR Press in March 2021. He is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience as a faculty member, medical writer, medical editor, researcher, and publication ethicist in academia and the medical field.
He is skilled in Health Research Methodology, Clinical Epidemiology, Clinical Research, Evidence-Based Medicine, Medical Editorship, Medical journalology, Publication Ethics, Publication Science, Medical Publishing, and Workshop Presentation. He holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Iran, and a Medical Journalology degree from Westminster University, London, UK, and a Ph.D. in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
He has extensive experience and an established reputation in medical journal editorship at senior levels and pioneered academic medical journalology and publication by founding the first Master of Science Program in Medical Journalology and Publication Science. He is also the co-founder of the innovative full-term course on medical writing and publishing (HRM 731) at HEI Department, Faculty of Health Sciences.
Dr. Astaneh has held editorial leadership roles at national and international medical journals, served as a council member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and was a core member of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and a director of World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
He is recognized for conducting over 750 workshops on medical journalology, clinical research, scientific writing, medical publishing, peer review, scientometry, and publication ethics globally.
Hanrik (Weijian) Dong, MSc ()Hanrik Dong, an MSc graduate from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, joined IMR Press in 2019. He previously served as the managing editor for the 'Frontiers in Bioscience-Landmark' and the 'Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine'. Hanrik has accumulated extensive experience in peer review, content acquisition, and publishing ethics. He participates in the broader academic publishing community as a member of the Council of Science Editors.
Willa (Yun) Wang, MSc ()Willa Wang, who obtained a Master of Science degree from the School of Life Sciences at Xiamen University in 2017, has over 7 years of experience in journal production. She currently serves as the Production Manager, leading the journal production team at IMR Press, overseeing tasks such as editing, format conversion, proofreading, and the output of XML and PDF versions of journals. She has handled over 2,000 papers and possesses extensive experience in production and editorial processes. Additionally, she is a member of the Council of Science Editors.
Yancey Zhang, MSc ()Yancey Zhang, with a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Beijing University of Technology (obtained in 2019), joined IMR Press in 2020 and currently serves as the marketing manager. She leads the marketing team in tasks such as publisher brand building and the formulation and implementation of journal promotion policies, covering social media operations, cooperation with third-party groups, and journal event planning. She is also a member of the Council of Science Editors.
Jacob Qi ()Assoc. Prof Jacob Qi joined the IMR Press in 2025 as Brand Promotion Manager. He obtained his PhD in Medicine from the University of Sydney, followed by postdoctoral training at the University of New South Wales. More recently, he led the Lipid Cell Biology Laboratory at the Centenary Institute. Assoc. Prof Qi currently heads the Cardiometabolic Lipidology and Lipidomics Laboratory at the Heart Research Institute, Charles Perkins Centre, and School of Medical Sciences, University of Sydney, Australia. His research focuses on uncovering lipid metabolic drivers of age-related diseases, developing lipid-targeted therapies, and identifying lipid-based biomarkers for personalized disease management.
In addition to his research roles, Assoc. Prof Qi serves as President of the Australian Association of Chinese Biomedical Scientists (331 members) and is a Board Member of the Australian Lipid Network. He is also a founding editorial board member of Lipidology and co-organized the 5th Australian Lipid Meeting (ALM5). His efforts continue to bridge research, collaboration, and public outreach in the biomedical field.
