Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Lipid metabolism plays a key role in the development and progression of cardiovascular and especially atherosclerotic diseases. Accordingly, lipid-lowering therapy is a cornerstone of primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Novel therapeutic targets and strategies have been discovered by scientific research and introduced into routine clinical practice over the past decade, thus making lipids one of the hottest topics in preventive cardiology. Together with the concept of cardiovascular precision medicine, the aim is to personalize diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms to individual patient characteristics. For this special issue, we invite research articles and reviews in the field of lipids and lipid metabolism in cardiovascular diseases.
