Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This special issue delves into the intricate realms of atrial fibrillation (AF) through a comprehensive exploration of its pathophysiology and molecular electrophysiology. Leading experts contribute cutting-edge research that provides insight into the mechanisms underlying AF onset and progression, as well as the associated molecular events.

Diverse aspects of AF are covered, including ion channels, genetic predisposition, and structural changes in atrial tissues. Articles will also present the latest advances in diagnostic tools, therapeutic interventions, and personalized treatment strategies. Moreover, this collection of studies will investigate the interplay between metabolic factors, inflammation, and AF, thus shedding light on novel pathways for targeted intervention.

This issue aims to deepen our understanding of AF at both the molecular and pathophysiological levels through a synthesis of clinical observations and experimental findings. It should serve as a valuable resource for clinicians, researchers and healthcare professionals involved in the ongoing search for more effective AF management and treatment modalities.

We invite Original Research, Reviews, and other article types on relevant topics that include, but are not limited to, the pathophysiology of AF, genetic predisposition, molecular electrophysiology, ion channel regulation, genetics and molecular markers, integrative approaches, and therapeutic strategies targeting specific molecular pathways or ion channels in AF.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted via our online editorial system at https://imr.propub.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to start your submission. Manuscripts can be submitted now or up until the deadline. All papers will go through peer-review process. Accepted papers will be published in the journal (as soon as accepted) and meanwhile listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, reviews as well as short communications are preferred. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office to announce on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts will be thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. Please visit the Instruction for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) in this open access journal is 2200 USD. Submitted manuscripts should be well formatted in good English.
