Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Over the centuries, plants have played a key role in human health through the presence of a large number of biomolecules with potentially beneficial effects. Many bioactive molecules from plants are widely used as therapeutic agents for treating diseases and maintaining health status. However, there is a strong need for scientific research on their role in modulating various metabolic and functional activities, as well as on their bioavailability, pharmacological action and safety. Numerous studies in the past few years have investigated the efficacy of plant-derived biomolecules against human diseases. More recently, in vitro, in vivo, and in silico studies are beginning to reveal the molecular mechanisms underlying their beneficial effects. The purpose of this Special Issue is to collect original research articles, short communications, and reviews on novel chemical and functional properties of bioactive molecules from plants that have impacts on human health. In addition, research on their potential molecular mechanisms of action, as well as studies on their bioavailability and metabolism, are welcome. We encourage you to consider submitting your original work on this important topic.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted via our online editorial system at https://imr.propub.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to start your submission. Manuscripts can be submitted now or up until the deadline. All papers will go through peer-review process. Accepted papers will be published in the journal (as soon as accepted) and meanwhile listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, reviews as well as short communications are preferred. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office to announce on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts will be thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. Please visit the Instruction for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) in this open access journal is 2500 USD. Submitted manuscripts should be well formatted in good English.
