Our Story
The founder of IMR Press, David Zhu (Difeng Zhu), entered the publishing industry driven by his passion for publishing and his commitment to the principles of open access. He established offices in Singapore and Hangzhou, China, to advance the organization’s global development. He is committed to building a professional team that covers the entire journal publishing process, including editorial production, quality control, marketing, and technical support, he continuously promotes the improvement and professionalism of IMR Press’s publishing system to ensure it consistently meets international academic publishing standards and ethical guidelines.

Publishing & Support
IMR Press remains committed to optimizing the journal publishing process and maintaining the integrity of academic publishing. Since 2021, we have strengthened our platform development and further improved the professional skills of our editorial team. We continuously develop and refine our manuscript handling system and internal editorial tools, aiming to improve editorial quality and workflow efficiency. Our goal is to ensure a smooth submission experience for scholars while maintaining the integrity, professionalism, and traceability of the publishing process.

Currently, IMR Press has published nearly twenty academic journals, with thousands of academic articles across multiple disciplines. Our authors and readers come from around the world. The published results of several of our journals have been indexed in WOS, DOAJ, Scopus, Pubmed, APA PsycInfo, CABI, EBSCO, and other databases, further expanding their academic influence and visibility. As of 2025, IMR Press has established partnerships with numerous academic institutions and gained official recognition from multiple domestic and international scientific associations (Learn more about our partners). At the same time, IMR Press has established several awards, funding support programs, and academic conference sponsorship plans to encourage academic exchange and open science practices.

Integrity & Responsibilities
As a member of international publishing organizations such as COPE, STM, and OASPA, IMR Press actively advocates for academic integrity and responsible publishing practices. We collaborate with Director of Education and Ethics Integrity to establish educational course series and promote publishing ethics, advancing research ethics education and publishing standards. IMR Press remains committed to providing an open, reliable, and continually evolving publishing platform for the global academic community, working together to promote academic exchange and knowledge sharing, and contributing to the long-term development of open science.

IMR Press now publishes 18 journals across a wide range of disciplines,including obstetrics & gynecology, nutrition, pharmacology, psychology, management, and library & information science.
We have established collaborations with multiple academic institutions, aiming to provide scholars with broader academic perspectives to advance knowledge dissemination and research practice.
Joined OASPA (Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association), furthering our open access mission; Signed a collaboration agreement with CABI in the same month, enhancing resource sharing and scholarly dissemination.
Following changes in equity structure, the ownership and management of FORUM MULTIMEDIA PUBLISHING have been fully separated from IMR Press. As a result, FORUM MULTIMEDIA PUBLISHING now operates as an independent company and is no longer under IMR Press’s control.
Journal of Food Safety and Food Quality-Archiv für Lebensmittelhygiene, Alpha Psychiatry, Journal of East European Management Studies, Knowledge Organization, Management Revue, Behavioral Psychology / Psicología Conductual, International Journal of Pharmacology and the Heart Surgery Forum were incorporated into IMR Press.
Additionally, in partnership with the Wenzhou Cross-Strait Big Health Development Association (WZCBHDA) and the Wenzhou Medical University Big One Health Development Research Institute, we co-founded the Global Health and Hospital Management journal. This initiative aims to foster global exchange in the health industry, enhance the integration of hospital management with the health sector, and contribute to improving the quality of global health services.
A series of advances has been made in the continued commitment to academic integrity and responsible publishing practices:
- Six journals became members of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics);
- Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine was indexed in PubMed Central (PMC);
- IMR Press became a member of STM (International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers), strengthening strategic collaboration with global academic publishing institutions;
- International Journal for Vitamin and Nutrition Research and Revista de Neurología joined IMR Press.
The editorial team, in collaboration with the Director of Education and Ethics Integrity, has refined editorial policies and publishing ethics standards to ensure professionalism and regulatory compliance. Concurrently, the technology team has undertaken the development of internal integrity management tools to drive the continuous optimization and advancement of the publishing process.
IMR Press completed its acquisition of FORUM MULTIMEDIA PUBLISHING and became its new owner. Despite the acquisition, the two entities continued to operate independently to maintain their professionalism and independence.
Six journals were indexed in DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), reinforcing our commitment to open access.
Clinical and Experimental Obstetrics & Gynecology, Journal of Integrative Neuroscience and Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine successively joined IMR Press, enriching the publishing portfolio.
Frontiers in Bioscience-Landmark, Frontiers in Bioscience-Scholar and Frontiers in Bioscience-Elite have joined IMR Press, marking a new phase of strategic collaboration between the two parties to further advance open-access journal publishing.
Launched our first journal, the Journal of Molecular and Clinical Medicine, officially entering the field of journal publishing.
Established offices in Singapore and Hangzhou, China, laying the foundation for a global editorial and production network.
