Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the upcoming publication of a Special Issue of Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine dedicated to highlighting excellence in cardiovascular research in Canada. Canadian researchers have an outstanding international reputation in many areas of cardiovascular research and have made important contributions to advancing our understanding and treatment of cardiovascular disorders. The goal of this Special Issue is to highlight contributions made to the field in Canadian laboratories or by Canadian investigators. Thus, the criteria for consideration for inclusion in the Special Issue is that the corresponding author should be a Canadian investigator or that the research was carried out primarily in a Canadian laboratory. Contributions may be in the form of either a Review or an Original Research article.
Topics to be covered include, but are not restricted to, the following:
Molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying myocardial remodelling and heart failure
Protection of the ischemic and reperfused myocardium
Vascular health and hypertension
Role of obesity and adipokines in cardiovascular disease
Diabetes and cardiovascular complications
Treatment of cardiovascular disease with natural products
Understanding cardiac arrhythmias
Cardiovascular pharmacology
