Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Brain health in the aging population has been spotlighted as a critical area of research since the aging brain presents both challenges and opportunities for advancing healthcare. This special issue seeks cutting-edge contributions addressing the complex processes of brain aging, with a focus on identifying diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers and exploring strategies to promote healthy cognitive aging across the lifespan.

We invite original research articles and comprehensive and systematic reviews that explore key areas, such as:

  • The identification of molecular, genetic, cognitive, and imaging biomarkers associated with aging and neurodegenerative diseases
  • Implementation of interventions, such as lifestyle modifications, dietary strategies, and pharmacological approaches, that support and promote healthy brain aging
  • The role of environmental and psychosocial factors in brain resilience and plasticity during aging
  • Translational applications of predictive models for aging trajectories in clinical and public health settings

This issue aims to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, bridging basic science, clinical practice, and public health initiatives. By bringing together leading research in brain aging, we seek to provide actionable insights and foster strategies that improve cognitive health outcomes for aging populations.
