Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The CoronaVirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and subsequent response has overwhelmed the world and continue to have residual effects on human society and health. Although respiratory symptoms usually dominate the clinical presentation of COVID-19, it is now known to have potentially serious cardiovascular consequences including myocardial injury, myocarditis, acute coronary syndromes, pulmonary embolism, stroke, arrhythmias, heart failure and cardiogenic shock.

Therefore, we are launching the project entitled: "Cardiovascular Implications of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Global Perspective" which will focus on risk factors of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches related to molecular and cellular in COVID-19 patients, with a particular interest in the cardiovascular health in the COVID-19 pandemic. Major topics will include myocarditis, cardiomyopathy, conduction system abnormalities, arrythmias, stroke, hypertensive urgency, and thromboembolic complications. (Please note that case reports and short reviews are not accepted).
