Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Cardiac CT angiography has become a forefront of non-invasive imaging modality in different cardiovascular diseases. Its role in ruling out coronary artery atherosclerotic disease has made it an established screening tool for patients presenting with chest pain. With the development of high-performance CT scanners, the fidelity of images as well as radiation safety has significantly improved. In this Special Issue, we are inviting high quality original research papers and comprehensive reviews addressing the new diagnostic horizon of Cardiac CT angiography in clinical practice beyond anatomical coronary imaging such as the assessment of plaque characterisation, flow reserve, myocardial perfusion, and viability. We are encouraging submission on radiomics, fat tissue imaging (perivascular and epicardial), functional CT in structural and congenital heart disease, as well as the role of cardiac CT in structural intervention. Novel technologies in image analysis using artificial intelligence algorithms are also welcome.
The topic of interests include, but are not limited to:
• FFR-CT
• Perfusion and viability assessment
• Plaque composition
• Fat tissue imaging: Perivascular fat and prognosis and risk stratification
• Fat tissue imaging: Epicardial fat – and prognosis
• Functional CT – Structural heart disease (HCM, ARVC, DCM)
• Functional CT – Congenital heart disease (adult and pediatric patients)
• CT in structural intervention (TAVI, MV, TV intervention)
• Extracardiac findings
• AI in Cardiac CT diagnostics – Radiomics
• New CT platform and technology – future advances
Manuscripts submitted to this Special Issue will be subjected to stringent selection criteria to ensure the privileged position of accepted contributions.
