Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The fields of biology, medicine, engineering, and biotechnology are rapidly being integrated as they frequently have overlapping fundamental concepts. Modern research approaches commonly contain interdisciplinary crosstalk, and global research organizations and funding agencies prefer this approach as disciplinary integration has fueled rapid progress toward novel technology applications.

The focus of this Special Issue of Frontiers in Biomedical Technology & Biomedicine is on providing a platform for novel research findings where basic science, engineering, and technology is applied in biology, medicine, drug discovery, pharmaceuticals, and medical device development. This issue encourages submission of both research and review articles following the guidelines for Frontiers in Bioscience-Elite

Authors are encouraged to submit articles related to both basic and applied aspects of biomedicine, ranging from molecular cell biology and genetics, to molecular medicine, biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, drug discovery, novel antimicrobial agents and their mechanisms of action and resistance development. This Special Issue also seeks submissions outlining engineering approaches for genes, proteins, cells, tissues, and host systems, as well as novel strategies for infection control, disinfection and sterilization, molecular drug synergy, bioinformatic approaches for drug design, systematic approaches for studying herbal medicine and drug development, molecular epidemiology, engineering and systematic approaches in vaccine development, novel medical devices and mechanisms, evaluation of combination of biotechnologies, natural and synthetic molecules and their structure, function, efficacy and mechanism of action, and novel approaches in regenerative medicine, wound healing, and repair.

Our best regards,
Prof. Suresh G. Joshi
