Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Pregnancy is a unique period in a woman's life. While every pregnant woman desires a healthy baby, regular prenatal consultations can detect specific pre-existing pathologies that can worsen if appropriate measures are not applied. It can also trigger certain undiagnosed diseases before pregnancy, such as cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, etc. Furthermore, certain infectious diseases that occur acutely during pregnancy can be a risk factor for the mother and fetus. These factors can negatively affect the progress of the pregnancy or complicate the birth, sometimes endangering the life of the woman or fetus. This Special Issue aims to highlight both theoretical and practical aspects related to the management of pregnancy via various associated pathologies. Although guidelines are generally comparable across different countries, one's individual experience can be crucial; as such, sharing one’s unique perspective in the field could positively influence how to approach these high-risk tasks. The Special Issue aims to resolve dilemmas pertaining to pathological pregnancy and to support medical staff in their daily practice, keeping the patient's needs foremost in mind. We welcome the submission of papers reflecting further progress in the field, such as original research manuscripts, short communications of preliminary but significant results, reviews, and case reports.
