Overview

Alpha Psychiatry (AP) aims to publish studies of the scientific and clinical value, and encourages the submission of high-quality research that advances the understanding and treatment of psychiatry.

AP covers a wide range of topics related to psychiatry, basic and clinical neuroscience and behavioral sciences, including diagnostic methods, treatment techniques, and prevention strategies. The journal is interested in publishing original research that addresses important clinical questions and advances the understanding and treatment of these conditions. This may include studies on the effectiveness of different treatments, new diagnostic tools or techniques, and novel approaches to preventing or managing mental diseases.

AP publishes Original Article, Review, Editorial, Expert Opinion on Guidelines/Expert Opinion, Systematic Review, Study Protocols, Short Communication, Letter to the Editor, Debate. Conference proceedings may also be considered for publication.

The target audience of the journal includes psychiatrists, mental health workers, neuroscientists and researchers who are interested or working in all fields of medicine.

2025 Alpha Psychiatry (Volume 26, Issue 1) , published by IMR, has changed its Open Access publication model from the CC BY-NC license to the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. All papers published from Volume 1 to Volume 25 (2000–2024) are copyrighted by IMR Press, and available under a CC BY-NC license. Articles published beginning from Volume 26 Issue 1 (2025) are under the terms and conditions of the CC BY license.
