This study investigates the impact of Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT) on cardiovascular health and breast cancer risk in postmenopausal women. Estrogen deficiency following menopause leads to metabolic disturbances such as increased blood pressure, lipid imbalance, and higher cardiovascular diseases risk. To address this, MHT is administered, aiming to restore hormonal balance and mitigate these metabolic and vascular changes. The main outcomes demonstrate that MHT, when initiated early in the postmenopausal period, can significantly reduce cardiovascular risk by improving endothelial function, lipid profiles, and glucose metabolism. However, the therapy is also associated with a potential elevation in breast cancer risk due to estrogen-stimulated proliferation of breast tissue. As a result, the study emphasizes the importance of carefully selecting candidates and personalizing MHT regimens to maximize cardiovascular benefits while minimizing risk of breast cancer. Despite these potential benefits, the study has limitations, including variability in individual responses to hormone therapy, the influence of MHT's formulations, and a lack of long-term randomized trials fully evaluating cancer risk and cardiovascular outcomes. Therefore, careful patient selection and personalized treatment strategies are essential.
