Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Pregnancy is now a journey that needs careful attention from both mothers-to-be and medical providers in order to evaluate many critical aspects within the main scope of prediction and prevention of complications. This special issue has the intention to publish the most recent advances in obstetric management of antenatal complications and pregnancy issues. It will include studies from the first trimester assessment of chromosomal abnormalities through nuchal translucency and non-invasive prenatal testing to the third trimester, including obstetrical syndromes such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, fetal growth restriction, cholestasis, and conclude with induction of labor and the risk of cesarean section or operative delivery. The role of ultrasound and the possibility to estimate the risk of certain pathologic conditions through the application of algorithms are the core of this concept and will require training skills and precision to obtain the best approach to pregnancy, to achieve the final goal of a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby.
