About This Webinar
To further uphold research integrity, enhance publication quality, and contribute to a trustworthy scholarly communication ecosystem, IMR Press has in recent years continued to advance the development of its research-integrity and publication-ethics framework. As a key component of its integrity-building efforts, IMR Press successfully hosted its first Research Integrity Webinar on 4 December 2025. The event was designed to strengthen dialogue among the various stakeholders involved in academic publishing. The webinar featured Behrooz Astaneh (Director of Education and Ethics Integrity, IMR Press) as the keynote speaker, alongside Michael H. Dahan (Editor-in-Chief, Clinical and Experimental Obstetrics & Gynecology) and Karol E. Watson (Editor-in-Chief, Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine), who shared their perspectives on the importance of research integrity in scholarly publishing.
Participants discussed topics such as author responsibilities, reviewer conduct, editorial accountability, and strategies for enhancing integrity governance in the digital era. The webinar also addressed emerging challenges—including the misuse of AI tools and the growing importance of data sharing—and explored how a “research-integrity trust chain” can be built across the entire research and publication lifecycle.
