Regional Journal Development Editor

We are seeking a Regional Journal Development Editor to join our team. This position is open to both full-time and part-time candidates. Candidates must be based in one of the following cities: Rome, Berlin, London, Madrid, Washington, D.C., Ottawa, Canberra, Seoul, or Tokyo.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote the company’s journals within the local academic community to enhance journal visibility and academic impact.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with universities, hospitals, research institutions, academic societies, and conference organizers.
  • Be responsible for inviting high-quality manuscript submissions by proactively identifying and contacting potential authors, research teams, and subject experts, and by commissioning and encouraging high-quality submissions based on the journal’s scope, research trends, and special topic directions.
  • Represent the company and its journals at academic conferences, institutional visits, webinars, academic exchange activities, and local academic networking events.
  • Collect local market information and monitor and follow up on research trends in relevant fields.
  • Submit regular work progress reports, including academic contact development, potential collaboration opportunities, conference resources, market feedback, and journal development suggestions.

Requirements:

  • PhD in molecular biology, biomedicine, life sciences, nutrition, materials science, social sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with the local academic environment of hospitals, research institutions, or universities.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to proactively identify potential academic resources and conduct professional and timely follow-up.
