Behrooz Astaneh

Behrooz Astaneh is a physician who devoted his life, his professional life, to this new field of medical journalism. He is a medical doctor, continued studying medical journalism at the University of Westminster in London, UK, and then continued in health research methodology at PhD level at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. During the last 20–25 years, he has done some activities in this field. He founded and he was the head of the medical journalism department in his native country. And also for more than 10 years, he was the editor in chief of the most ancient English language medical journal of his native country. He has been the vice president of the Eastern Mediterranean Association of Medical Editors and was one of the COPE Council members and also a core member of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors for some years. And for two years, he was one of the directors of World Association of Medical Editors. Currently he has the privilege of acting as the Director of Education and Ethics Integrity at the IMR Press. He is also  one of the associate editors at the Canadian Medical Association Journal and also helped in founding the first innovative full-term course on medical writing and publishing at McMaster University. In addition to acting as an editorial board member in different journals.
