Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Personality disorders (PDs) are among the most complex and clinically challenging psychiatric conditions, with significant impacts on individuals, healthcare systems, and society. Over the past several decades, the field has witnessed significant advances in the assessment, conceptualization, and treatment of PDs. These include the emergence of dimensional models (e.g., the Alternative Model of Personality Disorders), innovations in ambulatory and ecological momentary assessment, the development of integrative and personalized treatment approaches, and new theoretical models informed by neurobiological, developmental, and sociocultural perspectives.
Together, these developments have generated a rapidly expanding and increasingly diverse body of research. This special issue aims to highlight and synthesize recent advances that reflect this conceptual and methodological diversity, to advance contemporary understanding of personality disorders.
We invite submissions that may include original research, reviews, and systematic reviews addressing a broad range of topics related to personality disorders, including but not limited to consultation, assessment, and diagnostic tools, treatment and psychological intervention, cultural and contextual influences, and technological innovations that are helping to advance the field.
