Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Although their works have not always been recognized, women have made significant, outstanding and valuable contributions to the advancement of science since the beginning of its history. Nowadays, it is clear that significant gender differences still persist in academia. We believe that the entire scientific community should work together to achieve the total eradication of these differences, and it is in this vein that this special issue "Women in Cardiovascular Medicine and Science" is being launched by Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine.

This platform would like to encourage women and men to work together to fight inequalities faced by women in science, and put together a collection of powerful papers to provide an overview of this interesting research topic focused on cardiovascular medicine and disease, treatments and practices, new therapies and diagnostic tools.

Contributing papers with themes that include, but are not limited to:
• cardiovascular metabolism
• cardiovascular genetics and systems medicine
• cardiovascular therapeutics
• cardiovascular imaging
• atherosclerosis and vascular medicine
• cardiac arrhythmias
• high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease
• cardiovascular tissue engineering
• meta‐analysis based on cardiovascular outcomes trials
• pathophysiology of chronic heart failure
• biomarkers in cardiovascular medicine
• cardiovascular epidemiology and prevention
• cardiovascular biologics and regenerative medicine
• heart surgery

Considering your significant contribution to cardiovascular science and medicine, we would like to cordially invite you to submit an article to this Special Issue.

The only requirement is that the first author or corresponding author be a woman.
