Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Arrhythmogenic cardiac diseases are a leading cause of sudden cardiac death in young people and athletes, representing major clinical and social challenges. Early diagnosis, careful risk stratification, and tailored management are essential to reduce adverse outcomes while preserving quality of life and, where feasible, safe participation in sports. This Special Issue addresses the diagnostic work-up, including clinical assessment and diagnostic imaging, together with the role of genetics and lifestyle factors in disease expression. Therapeutic strategies are discussed from pharmacological and interventional perspectives, with particular attention to implantable cardioverter defibrillators and eligibility for competitive sports. The overall aim is to improve diagnostic pathways, refine differential diagnosis, and enhance patient care, providing practical guidance for clinicians, researchers, and sports physicians involved in the management of young individuals and athletes who are prone to arrhythmogenic cardiac diseases and wish to participate in competitive sports. We welcome the submission of reviews, systematic reviews and original research papers that address the aforementioned themes and related areas of interest.
