Call for Applications: Early Career Researcher (ECR) Editorial Board of Knowledge Organization

Dear Esteemed Scholars,

To further advance academic exchange and development in the field of knowledge organization, Knowledge Organization is excited to announce the open recruitment of Early Career Researcher (ECR) Editorial Board Members. We warmly invite outstanding young scholars to join our team and contribute to the growth of our journal and the broader knowledge organization community.

Eligibility Criteria

-Demonstrated academic integrity, strong sense of responsibility, enthusiasm for publishing, and willingness to undertake tasks such as manuscript submission, review coordination, and journal promotion.

-Ph.D. awarded within the past 10 years with continuous professional engagement in knowledge organization or closely related areas, such as information science, library science, archival studies, or classification theory.

-Experience as a reviewer for academic journals or prior involvement in peer-review processes, preferably in the field of knowledge organization or closely related areas.

-High academic level and English writing skills; experience in international journal review and editorial work related to knowledge organization systems, conceptual modeling, or classification frameworks is preferred.

-Membership in the International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO) is desirable and will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities of ECR Editorial Board Members

-Actively participate in the journal’s peer review process. Commit to reviewing at least one manuscript per month, ensuring high-quality and timely evaluations.

-Actively identify emerging trends knowledge organization, and invite high-quality papers.

-Actively contribute to the construction of the new media platform of the journal together with the editorial department, including providing materials and ideas for research progress posts, contacting relevant experts and further distribution.

-Actively promote the journal's academic content - especially in the field of knowledge organization —and contribute to enhancing its visibility and influence within the academic community.

-Actively participate in meetings of the ECR Editorial Board and relevant academic activities organized or co-organized by the journal.

Term and Management

The initial term of the ECR Editorial Board is one year (the time limit can be extended in justifiable circumstances), managed through a dynamic mechanism by the Editorial Board and Editorial Office, with an annual assessment, and ECRs who pass the assessment are eligible for renewal.
