The Editors-in-Chief of the International Journal for Vitamin and Nutrition Research Gather in Paris to Map Out a New Blueprint for the Journal’s Development

Paris, France – August 24–29, 2025 – The 23rd International Congress of Nutrition (IUNS-ICN 2025), organized by the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS), was successfully held in Paris, France, under the theme “Sustainable Food for Global Health.” The congress attracted more than 3,600 experts, researchers, dietitian, nutritionists, policymakers, and industry representatives from over 130 countries.

 

As an official journal of the Chinese Nutrition Society (CNS), the International Journal for Vitamin and Nutrition Research (IJVNR), a subsidiary of IMR Press, actively participated in the conference and carried out journal promotion. The booth was equipped with a wealth of promotional materials to facilitate attendees to quickly understand the journal information and submission process. During on-site exchanges, the journal also attracted the attention of many scholars.

 

 

During the conference, two Editors-in-Chief: Prof. Yuexin Yang, President of the Chinese Nutrition Society, and Prof. Torsten Bohn, University of Luxembourg, had a face-to-face exchange at the conference site. They had an in-depth discussion on the future development direction of the journal, including further maintaining academic integrity, optimizing peer review standards, strengthening cooperation with editorial board members, and enhancing the author submission guidelines to attract more high-quality manuscripts.

Both parties also shared ideas on enhancing the journal's international influence, such as promoting in conjunction with international nutrition academic conferences and leveraging social media to expand its reach. The two editors-in-chief particularly emphasized the importance of showcasing highlights of high-quality papers, using graphical abstracts, and interacting with authors/institutions to enhance the journal's international visibility.

 

They also jointly attended the Editorial Board Appointment Ceremony of IJVNR held during the congress. At this important occasion, official certificates were presented to newly appointed Editorial Board Members and Advisory Editors, further strengthening the journal’s editorial leadership. Together with the new members, the Editors-in-Chief witnessed a significant milestone in IJVNR’s international development. The newly appointed members expressed their commitment to contributing their expertise, supporting the journal’s academic quality, and expanding its global influence.

  • Prof. Rewadee Chongsuwat, Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand
  • Hyun-Sook Kim, President of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences

Advisory Editors are:

  • Tee E. Siong, Immediate-Past President, Nutrition Society of Malaysia
  • Nalinee Chongviriyaphan, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok

This meeting between the Editors-in-Chief not only marked an important milestone for IJVNR’s leadership but also reflected the journal’s ongoing commitment to advancing nutrition science and strengthening its international collaborations.

 

Through its active participation in IUNS-ICN 2025, IJVNR and IMR Press reaffirmed their mission to support high-quality open access publishing and foster global dialogue in nutrition research.
