Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Over the last few decades, the outcomes of congenital cardiac surgery have significantly improved as a result of novel techniques that have been introduced into the field. The expansion of interventional cardiology techniques for the treatment of congenital heart disease and the introduction of minimally invasive approaches in pediatric patients with CHD have made significant contributions to the field.
Attention is now directed towards a combination of the best of both worlds: the hybrid approach. In this special edition, we will address advancements in the management of congenital cardiac diseases, where collaboration between cardiologists and surgeons is essential. The special issue welcomes contributions on the following topics:
-New surgical techniques for congenital heart disease
-Hybrid approaches for complex congenital cardiac surgery
-Minimally invasive approaches for congenital heart disease
-Perioperative management and outcomes in congenital heart disease
-Pediatric cardiac surgery for congenital heart disease
-Surgical treatment of adult congenital heart disease
