Abstract

Serum concentrations of oestradiol, proge-sterone, human chorionic somatomammotropin and human chorionic gonadotropin were measured three times daily (morning, afternoon and night) during early, middle and late pregnancy, in order to investigate the existence of a circadian secretion rhythm. Twenty four women participated in the study. The results indicate the existence of a circadian secretion rhythm for oestradiol and human chorionic somatomammotropin during the second half of gestation.
