Abstract

Galactography is the most important instrumental examination in the diagnostics of secreting breast. The Authors describe the direct radiologic pictures of the galactoforous ducts as well as the changes of the ductal walls and lumen as shown by the radiologic examination by contrast media. The study finally reports statistical data concerning a personal case-series of 324 patients divided according to age. This analysis shows that the highest incidence of galactophoritis, secreting ductal ectasia and fibrocystic mastopathy occurs between 31 and 50 years of age, whereas papilloma, intraductal papillcmatosis and carcinoma are more frequently observed between 41 and 60 years.
