Hormonal levels in endometrial hyperplasia and adenocarcinoma at menopause
The Author measured 17-beta-estradiol, prolactin, FSH and LH in 17 menopausal female patients with different types of endometrial hyperplasia, 12 patients with adenocarcinoma of the endometrium and in a group of 20 subjects, free of endometrial pathology, who served as the control, and confirm the main risk factors for this pathology (over-weight, glicerides intolerance and hypertension). Doubts regarding the innocuity of estrogen therapy at menopause are expressed and antiestrogen with or without bromocriptina, used in certain forms of mammary pathology, is suggested as an alternative therapy for endometrial pathology.
