Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Heart failure (HF) is the leading cause of cardiovascular mortality and acute HF is a major clinical and economic problem. A significant proportion of HF patients have an implanted CIED that can collect and transmit relevant clinical information. A follow-up strategy based on remote monitoring obtained through implantable devices has been the subject of numerous clinical trials. In this special issue, we will focus on the effectiveness and limitations of remote monitoring for HF disease management and early identification of acute decompensation.

Dr. Giovanni Battista Perego and Dr. Francesco Brasca

Keywords
heart failure disease management
thoracic impedance
pulmonary pressure optimization
multiparametric systems for acute HF detection
cost-effectiveness of remote monitoring
