Hypercholesterolemia is a major modifiable cardiovascular risk factor. In addition to elevated LDL cholesterol levels, qualitative changes in cholesterol particles also contribute to the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Moreover, patients with hypercholesterolemia frequently have additional cardiovascular risk factors which further increase the incidence of cardiovascular events. The Special Issue "Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Patients with Hypercholesterolemia" provides a platform for high-quality original research papers and comprehensive reviews on recent advances in this important field.
