Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Semen analysis is the most important predictor of a man's fertility. By measuring the concentration, motility, and normal sperm morphology of sperm in semen, it is generally possible to determine whether a man is infertile or not. Semen analysis is evaluated worldwide with reference to the WHO laboratory manual for the examination and processing of human semen. Revised in 2021 and now in its sixth edition, the manual includes new evaluation items such as sperm DNA fragmentation test and oxidative stress measurement in semen. These novel methods of evaluation are based on basic research in male reproductive function; furthermore, they help bridge the gap from basic to clinical research.
In accordance with the aims of the journal, this issue focuses on several issues of semen analysis for the promotion of male reproductive health. We welcome submissions that describe, analyze, and discuss various areas of interest, such as spermatogenesis, sperm motility, seminal plasma proteins, and oxidative stress, etc., from the perspective of semen analysis. Submissions are welcome in any form, including original papers, case reports, commentaries, and review articles.
