Journal of Integrative Neuroscience (JIN) notes in sadness the passing of Dr. Melvyn Douglas Goldfinger (1947–2021)—a long-serving member of the Editorial Board. Dr. M.D. Goldfinger was a professor in the Department of Neuroscience, Cell Biology, and Physiology, Wright State University, Dayton, OH, USA. His research interests were in animal electrophysiology and stochastic modeling of neurons. He wrote several papers in JIN and a chapter in Modeling in the Neurosciences, Second Edition in 2005. To Dr. Goldfinger’s family, JIN extends its sincerest condolences. We will always remember Mel with respect and affection: “He was a real mensch”. His colleagues and friends will miss Dr. Goldfinger.
