Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue will focus on the field of “Bioengineering in reproduction”. We intend to publish elucidating reviews and up to date perspectives on existing literature, as well as new research studies that include novel observations and/or findings in the field.

Reproduction of human healthy siblings is composed of multiple pivotal processes which are subjected both to biological and physical fundamental laws.

The female reproductive system is composed of time-regulated, complex sub-systems and multiple functional processes that have been evolved to an efficient system for production of natural offspring. Each of the following bioengineering events is crucial to the success of either natural or assisted reproduction process: oocyte mechanics, fallopian tube dynamics, fertilization biomechanics, bioengineering of extracorporeal fertilization, cryopreservation of gametes and embryos, mechanobiology of embryonic implantation, biomaterials in reproduction, uterine peristalsis, uterine muscle contractions, uterine cervical characteristics, fetal membranes mechanics, in-silico modeling data science and machine learning clinical applications, and more.

This Special Issue aims to capture new important developments in the field and to contribute to our understanding of the role and physical mechanisms in normal as well as abnormal process by providing insights into the above-mentioned events.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted via our online editorial system at https://imr.propub.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to start your submission. Manuscripts can be submitted now or up until the deadline. All papers will go through peer-review process. Accepted papers will be published in the journal (as soon as accepted) and meanwhile listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, reviews as well as short communications are preferred. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office to announce on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts will be thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. Please visit the Instruction for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) in this open access journal is 500 USD. Submitted manuscripts should be well formatted in good English.
