Dear Colleagues,
Neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs) are a range of neurological disorders characterized by neuronal degeneration and apoptosis, including but not limited to Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), Huntington’s disease (HD), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), etc. NDDs primarily manifest progressive impairment in cognitive, motor, and sensory functions, and severely affect the life quality of aged people nowadays. Currently, it’s generally considered that herbal medicines and their products are beneficial for controlling or preventing NDDs. Here we established a special issue "Recent Advances in Natural Medicines for Treatment of Neurodegenerative diseases" to invite investigators to submit both original research and review articles that explore the potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
●Novel natural products with activities against NDDs
●New strategies for finding potential drugs against NDDs from plants, animals, microorganisms and minerals, in particular Network pharmacology, Artificial intelligence, Computer aided design, etc.
●Novel drug-targets for natural agents against NDDs
●Recent advances of anti-NDDs agents from plants, animals, microorganisms and minerals and the potential molecular mechanisms
●Potential molecules from natural agents with the activities of alleviating toxicities of current available drugs against NDDs.
