Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Cancer is regarded as the 2nd leading causes of death worldwide, irrespective of age, sex and locality. Indeed, it causing a huge economic burden and affecting both individuals and health care systems. The therapeutic approaches including surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, depending upon the individual condition and therefore that varies from case to case. From clinical perspectives, there are several agents in practice, however, facing many challenges in term of sensitivity, efficacy, and or safety. In the light of therapeutic potential of natural products as anticancer agents such as vincristine, vinblastine, Taxol etc., it is strongly believed this commodity has outstanding impending but need scientific studies. There are several new isolated compounds have been reported to be in preclinical and clinical stages. In this connection, the development of new techniques has greatly facilitated the cancer research/drug discovery from natural agents.

In this special issue, we will focus on various natural products and their isolates with strong effects as anticancer in both preclinical and clinical phases. The evidence-based studies on natural isolates such as flavonoids, alkaloids, glycosides, terpenes etc. or individual single compound with detail mechanistic studies that could be candidates of the clinical studies. The types may be review, meta-analysis and research articles in this regard will be welcome. Similarly, the clinical trials on natural anticancer therapies are strongly accepted.
