Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Since the Genome Sequencing Program, bioinformatics has made a significant contribution to biotechnology and biomedicine for more than 20 years. With the development of next-generation sequencing, different variations such as gene expression analysis, bacterial flora analysis, and single-cell analysis have emerged, and bioinformatics has developed various methods accordingly. In recent years, the introduction of machine learning and artificial intelligence has made bioinformatics an indispensable tool not only for sequence analysis but also for almost all research areas, including image and video analysis, molecular docking prediction, in silico drug screening, and more.

This Research Topic aims to gather bioinformatics studies that cover recent updates, newly developed tools, and applications in the field of biotechnology and biomedicine. We welcome researchers to share their findings in this field, in the form of original research or review articles.

The topics included, but are not limited to:
Artificial intelligence
Big data analysis
Drug discovery
Machine learning
Next-generation sequencing
Structural analysis
Molecular docking

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted via our online editorial system at by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to start your submission. Manuscripts can be submitted now or up until the deadline. All papers will go through peer-review process. Accepted papers will be published in the journal (as soon as accepted) and meanwhile listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, reviews as well as short communications are preferred. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office to announce on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts will be thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. Please visit the Instruction for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) in this open access journal is 500 USD. Submitted manuscripts should be well formatted in good English.
