Radiotherapy of ovarian dysgerminoma
The Authors report their experience on the conservative therapy in suitable stage I patients; however, the 100% cure rate reached with radiotherapy points out the responsibility that a policy of abstension implies. Radiosensitivity of dysgerminoma is confirmed in this series by the response rate (9/12), obtained in patients with an objective disease The opportunity for prophylactic irradiation on the mediastinum in stage III patients is suggested from the incidence of mediastinal metastases in our patients (2/6) not previously irradiated on this site.
