Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Ectopic pregnancy (EP) is defined as a pregnancy that occurs outside the uterus. In addition, a pregnancy located in the scar of a previous cesarean section should be considered as an EP. Because early diagnosis and treatment are important for the best outcome, every pregnant woman with a history of a cesarean section should be screened early in the first trimester of pregnancy. Diagnosis of cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) can be achieved with ultrasound and doppler imaging, but evidence-based management remains unclear. Therefore, treatment should be individualized according to many factors including clinical presentation, beta-human chorionic gonadotropin levels, imaging features and the experience of the gynecologist managing a patient with CSP.

In this Special Issue we welcome original studies and reviews regarding the diagnosis, management and outcomes of CSP.
