Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We welcome contributions in this Special Issue from specialists who deal with breast cancer management. We desire to focus on the problem of identifying malignant breast lesions in their preclinical phase, starting from the extension balance to new modern imaging techniques available to the radiologist along with the intraoperative identification techniques of non-palpable lesions by the surgeon. We are interested in marking techniques in the case of lesions undergoing neoadjuvant treatment in order to guide surgery to obtain complete clinical and radiological disease response. An important topic is the evaluation of margins and their adequacy, especially in patients with intraductal carcinoma. Discussion of the management of positive margins is critical in considering surgical and non-surgical solutions, as well as the type and timing of any reintervention. We are interested in discussing the conservative management in patients carrying gene mutations, both pathogenetic or of uncertain significance, especially in consideration of the age and wishes of the patient.
