Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Practice research in medical professions such as medicine, nursing, pharmacy and many others provides a conceptual framework that allows practicing health care professionals (HCP) to act as researchers.
Best practices research as described in papers created by HCP supports the systematic process of sharing personal experiences gained during years of practice in many medical sectors. The outcomes from measured personal observations are used to identify, describe, combine, and disseminate more effective and efficient clinical and/or management strategies. These can later be adapted for further development by practicing HCP’s and then implemented and adopted nationally by others.
This particular area of research allows HCP to implement practice improvements in their local communities and around the world, while also being a stimulator for change in the selected areas of their practice.
The incorporation of creative practice experience into everyday practice and the inclusion of creative output into research design should lead to improved quality of life for patients as well as improved patient safety.
