Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Obstetrics is a fascinating and special field of medicine that encompasses the care of two individuals: the mother and her developing fetus(es). Physiological changes to the mother and fetus occur during pregnancy that are critical not only for the normal development of the fetus(es), but also allow the mother to transform her body so that it will be able to accept the pregnancy. Any deviation or insult to this process can lead to adverse pregnancy outcomes for both the mother and her unborn fetus(es). Some of these adverse pregnancy outcomes can lead to premature delivery of non-viable fetus(es) and/or maternal death. It is therefore critical that medical providers who care for pregnant women have a good understanding of the emerging clinical cases that lead to adverse pregnancy outcomes.
This special issue is dedicated to a broad range of clinical cases that can lead to adverse pregnancy outcomes. These include, but are not limited to: infectious diseases, exposure to pollutants, medications or drugs, and maternal and fetal genetic/chromosomal abnormalities, as well as fetal anomalies and other maternal medical comorbidities. The field of obstetrics covers a wide range of specific subjects involving both the mother and her fetus(es). Although there is already considerable knowledge in this field of medicine, there is still much to learn about the prevention of preterm delivery, and about the underlying causes and prevention of preeclampsia.
We invite authors and researchers in all fields of medicine who have an interest in maternal and fetal complications, as well as in emerging clinical cases, to contribute their work with the goal of advancing the scope of knowledge in obstetrics. We would appreciate the opportunity to review your research in this area. If accepted for publication, your paper will be abstracted and indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded; Biological Abstracts; Scopus; Google Scholar; Current Contents - Clinical Medicine and JournalSeek. We have a team of experienced editors and reviewers with extensive knowledge in all aspects of clinical medicine. We can therefore guarantee that all manuscripts will be reviewed by experts with a passion in this field of medicine.
Thank you and we look forward to reviewing your work.
