Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Hysterectomy is a major gynecologic surgery, which is the most commonly performed procedure worldwide for the treatment of benign uterine disease. With the advent of minimally invasive surgical techniques, the proportion of laparoscopic hysterectomy and robotic hysterectomy is increasing, whereas the proportion of abdominal hysterectomy and vaginal hysterectomy is decreasing. In view of the benefits of a less invasive procedure with better cosmetic results, the evolution from multi-port to single port techniques has now broadened to include even less invasive techniques such as natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES). In this issue, we invite surgeons to submit manuscripts on their outcomes from novel approaches to hysterectomy and other gynecological procedures; and to discuss their techniques, and share their surgical tips on performing these procedures.
It is my honor to invite you to submit your research articles to this special issue of CEOG that focuses on the Role of Hysterectomy in Modern Gynecological Surgery.
