Dear Colleagues,
Endometriosis is an extremely common disease in women. Recent epidemiological studies estimate this condition affects about 10% of women of reproductive age, for a total of about 190 million women globally. The pathogenesis of endometriosis has still not been clearly defined. Current therapeutic strategies often do not result in sufficient pain control. Late diagnosis and high recurrence rates mean that women affected by endometriosis can suffer for many years before receiving proper treatment. For this Special Issue, we encourage submissions that discuss current knowledge regarding the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of this very challenging disease. Particularly welcome are papers that address early diagnosis of endometriosis, improved treatment options, development of novel therapies, and reduction of the risk of serious complications.
