Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Pain during sex is a major clinical problem that, although frequent, stays under the radar. Many men and women suffer from the problem but don’t go and look for help to solve it. Also, we as caregivers often deny or circumvent the problem, which does not help either.

We are preparing a volume of this Journal focusing on the differential aspects of this enigmatic clinical problem. Therefore, I ask you to send your scientific contribution, either as a fundamental or clinical research paper, clinical case  or as an opinion statement. I would welcome your contributions!

Possible subjects are:

Social barriers to talk about sexual intercourse pain problems
Penetration pain when attempting sexual intercourse
Genital mutilation and painful intercourse
Menopause and painful intercourse
Role of pelvic floor reeduction in painful sexual intercourse
History of unwanted sex and vaginism
Management of vulvodynia
Endometriosis and sex
Sex in pregnancy
Sexuologist view on painful intercourse

Please let us make a fantastic volume to help each other improving our care for these poor women suffering from acts that should give pleasure.

Waiting anxiously for your contributions

Prof. Dr. Gilbert Donders
