Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The ideas of this special issue titled "updates in gynecology endoscopy" derives from the desire to create a collection of manuscripts providing new evidence or summarizing the most recent available pieces of evidence in the field of endoscopy in gynecology.
The technological development has actually provided many opportunities for endoscopic approach as classic endoscopy, ultra-minimally invasive surgery or robotic surgery. The endoscopy in the past had a role only for benign conditions and it was applied principally for benign adnexal pathologies. In the last years the endoscopy acquired more application fields. Actually, the endoscopy is considered as gold standard for many procedures as for benign conditions as for malignancies. Thanks to the knowledge acquired by surgeons and the technological innovation even high complexity procedures can be performed by endoscopy. This special issue is aimed to provide a collection able to become the starting point of new research in the fields of endoscopy, investigating new scientific evidence, new application and to give overview of the status of the art in this field.
