Abstract

Problems and clinical aspects of trichomoniasis in ginecology. After having outlined the microbiological, etiopathogenetic and clinical problems of vulvo-vaginitis, the gynaecological and couple’s patholoy induced by trichomonas vaginalis, are described. The diagnosis must be done with the required accuracy, on the basis of proper assessments; the therapy, as much accurate and specific, must be extended to the partner. Besides the highly specific drugs (metronida-zol, azanidazol), mepartricin can be used as first drug for its fitness and lack of mutagen effects and of damages to the vaginal ecosystem. The co-operation with the dermatologist and urologist, is often an essential condition to resolve resistant and relapsing cases.
