Abstract
The conization as prophilaxis of the cervical carcinoma. After having pointed out how the conization of the uterine cervix had been proposed as a. prophi-lactic method for the cervical cancer since the first decades of this century, that is previous to the development of the modern early diagnostic methods for the cervical cancer, the Author also points out the present validity of this surgical intervention from the diagnostic and prophilactic points of view. Furthermore, in the patients that underwent this type of operation, the subsequent emergence of a cervical cancer is extremely rare.
