A note on the functions of be 1-2 in human solid tumors in situ
Dual functions of bcl-2 product, (1) inhibition of apoptosis and (2) inhibition of cell growth, were analyzed in human endometrial adenocarcinoma tissue using serial tissue sections and immunohistochemical and histochemical procedures. As conclusion, be 1-2 product was speculated to have at least two functions; (1) suppression of apoptosis of cells in GO phase, and (2) blocking the entrance of GO cells into cell division cycle.
