The aim of this audit was to evaluate the effect of the introduction of biochemical screening for Down’s syndrome (triple test i.e. serum alphafetoprotein [AFP], human chorionic gonadotrophin [hCG], and unconjugated oectriol [uE3]) on amniaocentesis at Whipps Cross Hospital.
